I am a wife and mother to two beautiful children, Zoey (8) and Ryder (4). My husband and I are both professional theatre actors and directors. I have been a resident company member of a theatre in Houston, Texas for over 10 years. My husband and I are also Team Beachbody Coaches.
I struggled with weight for as long as I can remember. I remember being 9 years old and being worried about needing to suck in my belly to look thinner. I had eating disorders through my teenage years and into adulthood. I felt bad about myself physically and emotionally for over 25 years of my life. In the past few years my husband and I have been working hard to change our lifestyles.
When we started I was about 170 pounds. I had anxiety, depression, chronic migraines, chronic neck and back pain. I was miserable, uncomfortable in my own skin and in so much pain. I was taking 8 daily medications: anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, muscle relaxers, anti-inflammatories, migraine preventative, pain medicine for migraines and neck and back pain. I felt 80 years old and I was only 34 at the time. I had no energy to play with my kids or do anything else. My husband and I felt disconnected in our marriage.
My husband was the heaviest he had ever been at 303 pounds. He had high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and depression. He was on medication for high blood pressure at 31 years old. He would be out of breath by just walking up the stairs and I remember worrying that he would have a heart attack and leave me too soon.
Somehow I got to a point where enough was enough! I knew that I had to make a change because staying the same was not the way I wanted to live the rest of my life. I started to do at-home workouts and weight watchers. At first my workouts were just workouts that I picked up on Pinterest but then, I saw my coach doing beachbody workouts and getting great results as well as "eating clean." I advanced to beachbody workouts like Insanity, T25 and 21 Day Fix which taught me about clean eating. Once I started incoperating weights into my workouts and clean eating and Shakeology into my diet I started to see the inches and pounds come off like I had never seen in my life. For years of my life I spent endless time on a treadmill only to have little to no results. Now I was seeing improvement fast and I was eating to fuel my body. Joey began to join me in my healthy lifestyle and we not only lost weight together, learned about nutrition together, but it started to bring us closer together in our marriage and with our kids. Because our kids have watched us be healthy examples, they want to workout with us and make healthy choices with food. I went from 170 pounds and a size 14, to 120 pounds and a size 0-2. I was shocked! Never in my life did I imagine I would have the body of an athlete. My husband Joey, lost 100 pounds! He went from 303 pounds to 203 pounds!
Because it made such a difference in our lives we became coaches. We wanted to give others hope, inspiration and motivation to live a life that they always dreamed of. I wanted to help people identify their goals and achieve their goals one by one with support and accountability by their side every step of the way. And I wanted to help families learn how to get active and healthy together.
Because of our lifestyle change Joey and I are now off ALL medications. We now have the blood pressure and heart rate of an athlete. We are stronger than we ever imagined we would be. We have gone from thinking we can't do anything to wondering what we can do next!
I want to inpire you to do the same. The biggest thing that I have learned over the past few years is you can do ANYTHING you set your mind to when you have support, community and accountabilty.

ONE ON ONE COACHING
I offer one to two different challenge groups every month. Challenge groups are done through a closed group on Facebook. I help you get set up with a fitness and nutrition plan that works for you, your goals, your schedule and your likes and get you in a challenge group. The group provides extra fun challenges to make it fun and interesting as well as a group of people who are all working on similar goals. Challenge groups provide a constant sense of community so you never feel alone in your journy.
